Basketball Star Kevin Durant (think Oklahoma City Thunder!) stopped by Washington, D.C.’s Ritz Carlton in Georgetown this week to promote his new movie, “Thunderstruck!”
The film is about Brian Newell (played by Nickelodeon Star Taylor Gray), “a hopelessly uncoordinated young basketball fan who magically switches talents with his hero NBA superstar Kevin Durant (who plays himself). Brian “becomes the star of his high school team…while Kevin Durant suddenly can’t make a shot.”
“Thunderstruck” is set to release Aug. 24, so lace up your basketball shoes and make a play for your nearest movie theater!
After nearly a year since it was originally slated to take place, the Obama campaign hosted its basketball star-studded fundraising event known as the “Obama Classic.”
The tip off was Wednesday and featured a dinner with President Obama that was hosted by basketball legend Michael Jordan — and featured current and past players Carmelo Anthony, Patrick Ewing, Sheryl Swoopes, Kyrie Irving and Alonzo Mourning. After the dinner, POTUS and the some of the players casually shot baskets together.
All in all, the events raised around $3 million — which is what we call a slam dunk!
