Who’s the Boss? Probably, Tony Danza.
But, we don’t just mean that in terms of his former hit TV show. The actor recently said he might consider running for mayor.
“I’m of a certain age, and you see things, and you think maybe you could help,” Tony explained. “You say: ‘Let me fix the city. Let me run for Mayor.’”
Tony versus Alec Baldwin for mayor of New York? Now, that’s an election we could get into.
After nearly a year since it was originally slated to take place, the Obama campaign hosted its basketball star-studded fundraising event known as the “Obama Classic.”
The tip off was Wednesday and featured a dinner with President Obama that was hosted by basketball legend Michael Jordan — and featured current and past players Carmelo Anthony, Patrick Ewing, Sheryl Swoopes, Kyrie Irving and Alonzo Mourning. After the dinner, POTUS and the some of the players casually shot baskets together.
All in all, the events raised around $3 million — which is what we call a slam dunk!
So, here we are, the week before the Republican National Convention and it looks like the GOP might have an unexpected attendee — which could wreak havoc in Tampa.
No, we’re talking about neither Sarah Palin nor Ron Paul — we’re talking about Isaac, a potential hurricane.
Right now, there’s a swirl of a storm in the Atlantic that experts say may build up and become either a tropical storm or hurricane.
Did you guys hear the big news in the world of Republican vice-presidential candidates?
Paul Ryan? No! We’re talking about the GOP Veep pick from 2008, Sarah Palin.
She’s changed her glasses!
Yes, that’s right! The rectangular, rimless specs by Japanese Designer Kazuo Kawasaki that became Sarah’s trademark feature during the ‘08 election are gone. In their place is a pair of thick-plastic frames, which are all the rage these days.
We’re not sure if you know this, but President Obama is a bit of basketball fan.
He’s been known to play games with staffers, fill out brackets for March Madness, and sit courtside at plenty of games.
What you may not know is that POTUS is such a huge basketball fan that he’s made friends with some of the biggest names in the sport, and, sometimes, they like to help out with his fundraising.
The latest effort by some of his famous baller friends includes Michael Jordan, Patrick Ewing, Sheryl Swoopes and Carmelo Anthony — and will take place later this month in New York with the Obama Classic 2012.
Stephen Colbert strikes again!
The political satirist pulled a fast one on America by hitting the country where it hurts most: Wikipedia.
Stephen decided to mess with Tim Pawlenty’s Wikipedia page, adding a lot of nonsense (“He was the son of Eugene Joseph Pawlenty, and let’s say… Mrs. Butterworth”) and even wrote that T-Paw became Mitt Romney’s VP pick last week, which obviously caused a bit of commotion.
