Thousands of spectators cane out to see the space shuttle, “Discovery,” given to the National Air and Space Museum by NASA at a ceremony in Chantilly, Va.

Sen. John Glenn — who is also the oldest man to ever go into space — was there to witness the signing of the transfer of ownership document.

The Discovery now sits permanently on the rear pavilion of the museum to inspire awe in the minds of young and old alike.
